AAA

Recently, I've been having trouble with my truck and one of the multiple problems was a sticking throttle. To make a long story short, it was a problem that I could fix temporarily with a little effort. That was until I got to Walmart and the truck decided that it was done. The problem was that this was at about 11 o'clock Sunday morning and I was supposed to drive a bunch of guys to Indianapolis to watch the Super Bowl. The truck obviously wasn't going to Indianapolis but we were able to find another ride so I called AAA to at least get me a tow to a mechanic somewhere. What they told me was that it would take 90 minutes to get someone sent out to me. The guys wanted to leave before then so I decided to just leave the truck at Walmart and deal with it when we came back Monday. Monday morning, I was dropped off at Walmart and I immediately called AAA who once again told me the wait could be 90 minutes which was not preferable but I had the time. After an hour and a half had passed, I called back and was told that I was a low priority because I was not in immediate danger from the cold but a truck should arrive shortly. Half an hour later I called again and was told that they would look into it. Finally, after two and a half hours sitting in a Walmart parking lot, Kevin's Towing, located in Miamisburg (maybe 15 minutes away), showed up to take me to the shop.

How is it that a company which is dependent on its customers for income can survive providing such terrible service? I shouldn't have to wait two and a half hours to get towed by a company just down the road. I'm left now wondering what the point of AAA is anyways if I could've just called the company myself and probably been towed in 30 minutes. The only thing AAA has to offer is that the first three miles of towing are free but at 3 dollars a mile thats only a 9 dollar deal. Anyways, thats my rant about AAA.
